6/22: Downtown Road Project Update: Great Progress Ahead!

We have some exciting news to share about the downtown road reconstruction project. Progress is looking great and the project is actually running ahead of schedule!

Last week, crews began pouring concrete in the curb-less section of the project, marking a major milestone. The next big step is scheduled for Thursday, June 25, when the new pavement is expected to be poured. This is also Day One of our Three-Day Semi-Annual Storewide Clearance Sale, so those of you that will be standing in line waiting for all the deals will get to see the road being poured firsthand. That's exciting!

Once the pavement is complete, attention will shift to the sidewalks the following week. While we're thrilled to see the project moving so quickly, sidewalk construction will likely mean that access to downtown businesses will remain limited.

At this point, it appears that downtown businesses may not be fully accessible during the week following the Fourth of July holiday. Chic and Unique does NOT have a back door entrance, so more than likely we will need to be closed next week. We will continue to share updates as we receive them and will keep everyone informed of any changes to the schedule.

Although construction has certainly presented challenges, it's encouraging to see the finish line coming into view. We appreciate everyone's patience, support, and commitment to shopping local throughout this project. Every visit, purchase, share, and recommendation has helped our downtown businesses weather this disruption.

The end is in sight, and we can't wait to welcome everyone back to a beautifully improved downtown Burlington Loop and Pine Street!
